Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Mydduuka ("the Platform"), you ("User", "Vendor", or "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, vendors, and others who access or use Mydduuka.
2. Description of Service
Mydduuka is a digital platform that enables Ugandan businesses to create online shop pages ("Dduukas"), manage services and bookings, display product galleries, and accept mobile money payments from customers. We provide the infrastructure and tools; vendors are responsible for the content, accuracy, and legality of their own Dduuka pages.
3. Eligibility
To use Mydduuka as a vendor, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be a legally registered business in Uganda or an individual operating a lawful business.
- Provide accurate and truthful information during registration, including a valid URSB certificate number and TIN.
- Have authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of your business.
4. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials.
- All activities that occur under your account.
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or breach of security at support@mydduuka.com.
- Ensuring all business information, services, and prices listed on your Dduuka are accurate and up to date.
5. Subscription and Payments
Access to certain features of Mydduuka requires a paid subscription plan. By subscribing, you agree to the following:
- Subscription fees are billed in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) and are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Plans auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 14 days' notice to active subscribers.
- A free trial period may be offered at our discretion. No payment is required during the trial, but a subscription is needed to continue after it ends.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to use the Platform to:
- List or sell illegal goods or services.
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent business information.
- Collect customer data in violation of applicable privacy laws.
- Send unsolicited communications (spam) to customers.
- Impersonate another person or business.
- Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Platform's operation.
- Violate any applicable Ugandan or international laws and regulations.
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.
7. Content Ownership and License
You retain ownership of all content you upload to your Dduuka page (photos, text, logos, etc.). By uploading content, you grant Mydduuka a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and promote your content solely for the purpose of operating and marketing the Platform.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to all content you upload and that it does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party.
8. Payments and Mobile Money
Mydduuka integrates with Airtel Money to facilitate payments between customers and vendors. By using payment features, you agree to Airtel Money's terms and conditions in addition to these Terms. Mydduuka is not liable for delays, failures, or errors originating from the mobile money provider. You are responsible for providing a valid and active payout phone number.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mydduuka shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits or data, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Mydduuka in the three (3) months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. You may close your account through the Platform settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, fail to pay subscription fees, or engage in activities harmful to the Platform or other users. Upon termination, your Dduuka page will be taken offline and your data may be deleted after a grace period.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Platform. Continued use of Mydduuka after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
